Traffic advisory for Opening Weekend
NOTICE
June 20, 2007
Due to a large-scale construction project at Harvard Law School, the City of Cambridge will be closing Massachusetts Avenue from the Cambridge Common to Wendell Street between 6 pm Friday, June 22, and 5 am Monday, June 25. Because of this closure and the large number of Summer School students arriving for Opening Weekend, we anticipate significant traffic delays in the Harvard Square vicinity on Saturday and Sunday. Please view a detailed map of weekend road closures before traveling to campus.
- Non-resident students are encouraged to utilize public transportation when traveling to campus this weekend. Commuting students who must drive to campus this weekend may park free of charge in the Harvard Business School parking lot and take the shuttle buses to campus.
- Students moving into all other Houses or dormitories may still drive directly to their residences, but should be prepared for delays. The Oxford Street Parking Garage remains the recommended weekend parking location for students driving to their residences.
For students who wish to move in on Sunday, when traffic may be lighter, residences will open starting at 9 am. All other Sunday check-in activities will begin, as scheduled, at noon.
Harvard Summer School is making every effort to minimize the impact this construction project will have on our students and greatly appreciates your patience as we try to accommodate all of our arriving students in a timely manner. For questions related to Summer School check-in procedures, please reference the Harvard Summer School Opening Weekend Guide (download* guide), our detailed campus map (download* map), or contact Information Services at (617) 495-4024.
