International Students

Students must be proficient in English to be eligible for admission to the Secondary School Program. Students whose primary language is not English must submit an official TOEFL score. The Harvard Summer School institution code is 8578.

The F-1 visa category is the appropriate visa category for students applying for full-time study in the Secondary School Program. Students who need an I-20 should request one when they apply. The I-20 is issued to students upon their acceptance of an offer to attend the program. An advisor from Harvard's International Office is available to help international students with immigration questions, social and cultural issues, financial matters, and personal concerns. Students who enter the US on an F-1 visa must remain enrolled full time and should apply as early as possible. I-20s are not issued after May 13.

All international students who attend the Summer School while on visas must comply with Massachusetts immunization regulations. Immunization forms and instructions are included in the full Summer School catalogue mailed to students on admission.
